Who are we?
OVTO promotes and supports research related to virtual testing and computer modelling in traffic safety to achieve Vision Zero for all road users.
Objectives
Objectives of The OpenVT Organisation (OVTO) are:
Run and own the OpenVT platform and the associated domain openvt.eu.
Provide OpenVT as an open platform for tools and resources related to virtual testing (VT) in road safety and injury biomechanics.
Own the copyrights of open source projects related to VT and biomechanics.
Host open source projects related to VT and biomechanics on the OpenVT platform, maintain them and ensure the sustainable evolution in the future, provide user support.
Promote and support research related to virtual testing and computer modelling in traffic safety and biomechanics.

Societal impact
Virtual Testing (VT) has the potential to optimise adaptive safety systems and reduce female injuries by closing the optimisation-gap between female and male drivers. The H2020 VIRTUAL project considered societal trends such as urbanisation by focusing on specific test cases from an urban environment such as public transport or Vulnerable Road Users (VRU).
